The Path From Love

Many paths lead from love
But few go back

The paths from love
 At first glance
Look like the paths to love:
 Twisting and turning
 Painful and long
Marked with uncertainty

Yet the paths to love are filled with
 hope
  joy
   promise
And the paths from love are only filled with
  loss

I set my love free
 But
  she
   did
    not
     come
      back
       to
        me.

And now I'm free.

I was reading my Quality Paperback Book club's monthly catalog, and spied a new book by Deepak Chopra entitled The Path to Love: Spiritual Strategies for Healing. The thought immediately leapt into my mind: write a poem about the path from love. And here we are.
