Helena - The End of Innocence

And when I told you I was leaving
You broke down and cried
You told me that you loved me
Oh how much you lied

You said "I can't live without you"
"I depend so much on you"
And I stood not even caring
If half of it were true

You screamed at me
"How could you do this to me?"
You cried at me
"How could you do this to me."

As you finished your performance
And awaited my reply
All you heard was one hand clapping
And a soft whisper: "Goodbye"

I made my way from there
Surrounding heart with iron walls
Vowing never to be the fool
'Til next time beauty calls

Unknown date.

First off, this is not based on any personal experience. :) The series of three began with the verse

And you finished your performance
And awaited my reply
All you heard was one hand clapping
And a soft whisper: "Goodbye"
and were written in a hotel room in Dalhousie, NB.
