INDEX THEBOYKOS

Between You And I

One day I asked you,
"Where is your love?"
And you replied,
"You can taste it in my kisses."
No, no, I cannot taste your kisses;
There is nothing but routine in the kisses
Between you and I.

And so I asked you,
"Where is your love?"
And you replied,
"You can see it in my eyes."
No, no, I cannot see your eyes;
They are lost in the shadows of doubt
Between you and I.

And so I asked you,
"Where is your love?"
And you replied,
"You can smell it in my perfume."
No, no, I cannot smell your perfume;
It is swept away by the whirlwind of emotions
Between you and I.

And so I asked you,
"Where is your love?"
And you replied,
"You can hear it in my voice."
No, no, I cannot hear your voice;
It is drowning in the gulf of silence
Between you and I.

And finally I asked you,
"Where is your love?"
And you replied,
"You can feel it in my touch."
No, no, I cannot feel your touch;
It cannot cross the distance, oh, the aching distance,
Between you and I.
